See you there!

I don’t understand why you don’t send out a notification to all the people who submitted letting us know we weren’t chosen. I’m sure I’m not the only one who spent a lot of time, effort, and emotional investment in my pitch for the event. Why can’t you just send a short letting us know? Something like, “Hey, unfortunately we didn’t pick your talk, but thanks for submitting!”
Is that so hard? It seems like common courtesy really. I mean it really makes the rejection so much worse that you don’t even spend the five minutes to reach out to us. I definitely won’t waste my time with you guys in the future.

Thanks for reaching out. Narrowing down the submissions for this show was a challenge, and we had to turn down a lot of great ideas. We did send personal responses to each person who submitted a talk for Ignite 49. Those all went out earlier this month, and were sent directly to the email addresses submitted with the talk ideas. Perhaps yours got caught in a spam filter?
